Perfect villa for a family! Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Safe for young ones as the internal door through to the pool has a high lock to ensure kids can't get outside. Great size of pool and perfect kids pool section. Panoramic views which are spectacular!

− The only real negative is the location (which is also a plus due to the views!) You need a car to stay here as even the local village isn't easily walkable. The local taverna does deliver food at no additional cost which is useful.

Wunderschöne, gemütlich eingerichtete Villa mit traumhaften Ausblick!

Die Villa ist sehr gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Sie liegt etwas oberhalb des Ortes in völliger Ruhe. Die Ausstattung ist super. Es fehlt hier wirklich an nichts. Der Kühlschrank war bei unserer Ankunft üppig bestückt mit Getränken und im Küchenschrank gab es jede Menge Knabbereien. Das Highlight ist natürlich der Außenbereich mit Pool, gemütlichen Liegestühlen, Schaukel, Sofa und einem gigantischen Blick über die Bucht von Souda. Einfach traumhaft! Da die Villa etwas abseits liegt, braucht man aber auf jeden Fall ein Auto. Für die Ruhe und die wunderschöne Aussicht nimmt man das aber gerne in Kauf.

For many years now, we have been travelling around the Mediterranean, staying in 4/5 rentals each year. I have to say that Margarita's Retreat certainly fits into the top 5% of these rentals for a number of reasons. 1. Ease of booking from the get-go, communication with Margareta was prompt and accurate. Directions to the villa were accurate and easy to follow. 2. The villa itself was a delight, very comfortable with high-quality furnishings and an excellent outdoor area to enjoy with a good sized pool at 1.5mts with the addition of a shallower separate area for non swimming children/adults. The villa is situated quite high on the hillside giving panoramic views out over Souda Bay and the mountains, they say that the camera doesn't lie but the pictures provided DO NOT DO JUSTICE to the views. On numerous occasions we commented on how quiet and tranquil the villa surroundings were, sometimes with no sounds what so ever. The provisioning of the villa was superb, you can't drink the water so bottled water in abundance was provided and I mean in abundance, the fridge full, each room in the villa had around 4 bottles, soft drinks, fruit juices, beers, lagers, tea, coffee (3 different types), biscuits, crisps, snacks and preserves along with mini toasts. All the main rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The village is small with a taverna and mini market but just 10mins away is the village of Plaka with some very good restaurants and a short distance away the coastal villages of Almyrida and Kalyves with a good number of eateries and some excellent beaches. Would I recommend this villa and host most certainly.

− To be fair there was nothing about the villa to dislike, it is at the end of a 300mtr dirt track and a lot of care has to be taken when driving down the track but once you get used it to you are fine. One word of warning when driving in the quieter areas of Crete DO NOT trust google maps otherwise you will do a wonderful tour of the countryside. Stick with the main roads, in the long run it is much quicker.

Amazing villa with gorgeous views on Souda bay

The house with its amazing views on the bay, which is tastefully decorated and equipped (you ll find anything you need (pans, plates, toaster, washing machine, beach towels, information about the area, etc) for a 2 weeks stay. The sunset is unforgettable! It’s location is also perfect (3-4 min by car from the village, where you will find a mini market opened from 8am to 8pm with a lots of products. Great beaches and restaurants can be reached in a 15-30 minutes drive. Our host Margarita, who welcomed us very kindly and ensured our stay would be great, from the first day by filling our fridge with water, drinks, some food (we came in a bit late) and providing advices on surroundings ( beaches, restaurants and activities).
