Disgusting apartment, horrible experience, fraudulent host. Worst experience ever, never again.

Nothing, the entire experience was a disaster.

− The most misleading & disgusting place I've seen in 20 countries and 100+ bookings on this website. Here's the story, to spare you from losing your time and money. The description of the apartment nothing short of a scam. Even the address. If you use that bathroom, germs and funghi are guaranteed. Bugs on the couch. The smell in the kitchenette, the sink and sponge make you want to vomit. Clothes of the owner everywhere. The fridge full of his food. We stayed in the apartment for 10 minutes altogether, until alerted support about the situation. After leaving, tried to contact the owner (as advised by support), to have a peaceful resolution. He did not react on any channel for 4 hours. One thing was worse than the apartment itself. A 20 minutes phone call with the owner, where he: - Tried to convince me that my European definition of clean is exaggerated, rust, funghi and bugs in New York are common in most apartments, so I should live with it - Confessed that the apartment was cleaned a week before our arrival, and he was living there the day before we arrived?! How is this even legal? - Argued that his place is much cheaper than the other options, so I should take it as is. Spoiler alert: It isn't. - Insulted me with a 10% discount when I asked for a refund, as we had no intention to go back - When I had enough of his scams, and called his arguments bullshit, he became aggressive and hung up. Literally every aspect of disastrous customer service checked. Needless to say, we've reported the place, booked a cool hotel room in a much better location for a similar price. While it required multiple rounds of discussion with support, after escalating it, managed to recover my funds almost entirely. If this review helps someone else avoid this place, my loss wasn't in vain. As I'm 100% sure the host will try to explain himself, I'll leave the pictures here so that you can convince yourself.

The flat is just like in the photos - small, but cosy and nicely decorated. The location is also unbeatable, close to the centre of Manhattan, but it is still located in a small residential street with not too much noise. Self check-in, easy and flexible. An amazing supermarket is just around the corner. The host is simply the best - we cannot be thankful enough for the help that we received when we had an difficult situation. He really went the extra mile (if not 2 or 3!!!). Thank you so much, we will never forget your kindness!
