Cute cabin for a weekend trip but needs more upkeep regularly and proper locks to make this a truly spectacular stay.
8.0This property is super cute & perfectly sized for a small group getaway - we hosted 5 girls for a bachelorette trip. It’s also 12 minutes from a Walmart/Food Lion and not far from cute restaurants etc.
− The property needs some TLC overall. There was a strong mildew smell throughout the house, including several of the towels had it as well. Additionally, while understanding we are in a cabin in the woods, the amount of bugs and massive webs & hornets nests in every crevice was a bit excessive for comfortability. The house would fill with bugs at night despite not having any doors or anything open and minimally going in/out. As far as safety factors go, I would also suggest putting a stronger lock on all exterior doors including downstairs (like what is on the entrance). I didn’t love that downstairs just had a knob lock. I then thought, well, maybe I can lock the door to the basement entirely and it doesn’t have a lock at all. We all felt quite uneasy about that.
Reality did not meet expectations in terms of cleanliness and layout of the property.
4.0Some positives of our visit included clean & comfortable beds, plentiful blankets, and clean restrooms & kitchen. We also appreciated the books and games around the house! I did find overall cleanliness disappointing- lots of food crumbs under the couch cushions, the hot tub did not look very clean, empty lighter fluid bottles littered the patio, etc. I also felt very unsafe using the spiral stairs, having three beds in the spiral staircase loft should be noted in the listing. The fenced enclosure for dogs to run has a large gap which we discovered when our dog nearly ran away. We attempted to patch it with some branches and rocks. I feel there could have been more details given in the listing that would have given us a better idea of what to expect.

7.0The beds were very comfortable. We also liked the location it was close enough to town that it wasn't inconvenient and far enough that you could relax.
− The bunk beds did have a safety rail and weren't safe for use. The walls in the bathroom were dirty, the appliances are out of date, since there is no dish washer people could put back dishes however that saw fit, which meant a lot of the dishes in the cupboards were greasy. We had to clean the hot tub when we got there also.
