The location is beautiful, although a bit far from the center. The room is amazing, fully equipped and very beautiful.

− First day when I checked in I got several knocks on my food for various reasons. The next morning, before 8am they knocked on my door to tell me there’s a crocodile in the river if I wanted to see it. They woke me up and completely ruined my day. They are very nice people but I think they should realise they are running a vacation home where people are looking for resting.

This was the best stay in our whole trip (3months). Everything is just perfect. The family is so nice and helpful with everything. Location is next to the river and it is very quiet. The room is so big and just perfect with small kittchen. You can find many beautiful details and it is very cozy. They surprised us few times with some sweets and one morning they served us their breakfast. We love their dog 🐕

So many good things to say, just a few of them: - any needs are addressed and help is provided quickly, - nice family that tries to provide everything for your comfortable stay, - apartment is totally stunning, great design and facilities are well-equipped, - kitchen has everything you need for cooking on a daily basis, - clean room and bathroom, cozy blanket and beautiful wall paintings drawn by owner himself, wi-fi is acceptable, very good AC + fan, - you can see a lot of wild life since the house is in the jungle area (monkeys, chipmunks, many birds, river with crocodiles), - calm environment for quality rest, far from noisy roads, (exception - night from saturday to sunday), - room clean up every few days, - bike/bicycle rental and water delivery upon request for additional fee Overall, it's an amazing place to stay, I was carefully choosing and comparing many places in the similar price range in Weligama, and this one was the best option even though it's a bit far from city. You can totally go for it, won't regret!!!!!!!!!!!❤️

− Few suggestions: - Wild life. during room cleaning, please, close the door, because every night after each cleaning I found lizards, bugs, cockroaches at home, - English. since the communication in english is a bit complicated, I would recommend to make some written instruction of common rules/prices, - Water pressure. hot water pressure in the shower is very low, there's a good pressure for cool water but it's a bit chilly for showering. so improving the water flow could be a great Also for those who stays here Saturday-Sunday night, there's a bar over the river that operates during this night and plays very loud music until 6 am. Just be aware of it, hehe

This studio is absolutely amazing! Everything is new and aesthetically very pleasing. Very good wifi (also for video calls). I also loved the location as it's a bit away from the noisy and hectic areas. The family living there is so sweet too! 10/10 recommend!!

The highlight of our stay was undeniably our incredible host, who spared no effort in ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Beyond the culinary delights, our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation.
