Family-Friendly Retreat between Beach & Mountains

We chose this property to access this part of North Wales for days out. We took the Ffestiniog & Welch Highland rail

First of all the location was perfect, the beach is 10 mins walk or you can just park on the beach. Porthmadog is a 10 minute drive away where you can access pubs/restaurants and steam trains. The property was clean, modern, spacious and very well equipped for all our needs.

Lovely, quiet property in a friendly community. Modern decor and appliances although these took a little figuring out (microwave and oven). Good selection of crockery and cooking wares. Only thing missing is some steak knives but that may be down to personal preference. Garden was perfect size and more importantly safe, especially having a 2 year old knowing that she could play safe without any harm was a bonus. Beds were comfortable and both the en-suite and main bathroom were clean. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer with iron in the rear of the garage accessed by a side door. Great Pub/Restaurant/Take away at Black Rock which is a 10 minute walk away and only a stones throw from the beach which was stunning. There's also a little convenience store and chippy which again is only a 10 minute walk away. You're also only 10/15 minute drive from Porthmadog where there are plenty of shops to suit most tastes as well as grocery supplies. Overall very impressed and really didn't want to leave, the peace and quiet is just what we needed!

− Just a couple of little niggles. Most surfaces were clean on arrival but the table against the wall in the kitchen was dusty, as was the light fitting in what is usually the twin bedroom. Also, the duvet had a small tear and stain on. Windows! No security feature in that they open wide without any restrictions so especially in the current heat, felt we were unable to open them when not in the room (bedrooms). Not so much of an issue when you're in the dining/living area as you can see at all times. They do have a night catch but considering this only allows a crack of about 1/2 inch the two bedrooms at the front of the property can get a little warm. The sofa in the living area isn't the most comfortable and is definitely in need of replacing! It doesn't give the impression of being clean when it looks as though there are stains/bleached marks. Would the above stop me booking again, no would book again in a heartbeat. If the above was addressed I'd be giving a 10/10!
