Comfortable room in great location
8.0The location is beautiful, in an old mill building, on the side of a valley with trees and a river at the bottom. It is 5 minutes walk from New Mills Central train station, which is less than 30 mins from Manchester Piccadilly. It's a short walk from shops, restaurants etc in New Mills town centre, as well as river and canal walks and countryside. I stayed in Manager Suite 1, which was a comfortable room with ensuite facilities. Room was accessed using key code, which was emailed in advance, with no issues. There is a bar & restaurant on site, which was friendly and reasonably priced (with a 10% discount for people staying). Food options were limited (pies or chilli loaded chips on the 2 nights I stayed) but there was a veggie/vegan option.
− Not a problem for me, but the room would have access issues for some, with steep steps. Some rooms on the site have self catering facilities, and the communication around this was slightly unclear (possibly just me not reading thoroughly enough). Manager Suite 1 is just a room with no self catering facilities. The room was slightly sparsely decorated, with a chest of drawers and clothes rack, but no chair. I had to go and ask for the wi-fi code as this wasn't in the room when I arrived. These are all minor grumbles rather than anything serious.
