A beautiful, peaceful stay in a fantastic location, with everything you need

The house was lovely and had everything we needed for a relaxing break away. The location was stunning, with the beach literally a 20-second walk from the property. The beach itself was beautiful, stretching for miles and incredibly peaceful. The local shop had everything we needed during our stay, with a larger supermarket only around 20 minutes away. There were also a couple of pubs nearby, although we did not get the chance to visit them. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and travelling quite a distance with a cake on a hot day, so we asked whether it might be possible to access the property a little earlier than planned. The hosts were extremely accommodating and arranged this without any trouble, which gave us one less thing to worry about and was greatly appreciated. The property also offered excellent value for money. Considering the quality of the house, its facilities and the fantastic location, it was extremely good value. We would happily recommend it.

− The only very minor points were that the sofa was not the most comfortable for relaxing in the evening, and the kitchen knives could do with being sharpened, despite there being a sharpener provided. Neither of these points detracted from our stay, and we mention them only as constructive feedback for the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Right on the beach, parking wasn’t an issue, cosy cottage with everything we needed. Plenty of walks for our dog. Exceptionally cosy beds!!! Great location to explore that part of the Lake District.

Amazing sunsets and lovely sea views!

Property location fantastic. Fabulous sea views and a very chilled place. Playground opposite idea for the kids. The house is quite spacious with good size bedrooms and plenty of clean bathrooms. Relatively comfortable and very chilled environment. The host although not local was very pleasant and helpful.

− The property is in need of a refresh, interior all quite tired. The fridge and oven really need replacing. Kitchen lacks worktops. The oven was absolutely filthy. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years! Not pleasant. Instead of a mattress topper there was a big piece of foam with no mattress protector. Not hygienic really.

Fabulous location and we experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen. Very comfortable house with all facilities needed

− No major issues but think the kitchen area is a bit tired and would benefit from a bit of TLC but nothing else

The location is just simply glorious! Looking out the window onto the beach or watching the sunset from the conservatory is amazing! The house was very clean, nicely furnished and stocked with all the essentials we needed. The beds were great, if a little soft for our tastes. Good pillows and blankets. Roller blinds and curtains that actually block light on all bedroom windows! Having three bathrooms and four toilets in total is also very nice for groups. Lots of nice little touches like nightlights and wireless chargers on all nightstands. Finding the place was easy, the host provided a very accurate description, the whole process from booking, check-in and check-out was simple and frictionless. There is ample free parking right beside the house. The little cafe round the corner is also well worth a visit! All in all? Very much a recommendation!!

− Nothing really negative to say, rather a few things that might be good to know before: As mentioned above, the beds were on the softer side. The bunk bed on the second floor is on the smaller side, adults might have a hard time with it. The town itself is tiny, no grocery store and the one "pub" closes it's kitchen quite early. But the next town with shops etc. is just 10min away.
