Gorgeous mountain views on a historic agriturismo with cows and fresh dairy products
10.0Very nice agriturismo. On a farm with cows and calves, also a few cute and friendly dogs, some chickens, etc. It was alfalfa cutting time while we were there, and they were hard at work cutting the hay. It is a real working dairy farm and you can walk around to see the cows. There are several bikes of different sizes that you can use there to explore. The view of the surrounding mountains is just spectacular. There are chaise lounges where you can lay and just look at the mountains. The breakfast is huge and fresh and amazing--coffees and tea, yogurt (fresh from the farm, apple cake, cookies, fruit, fresh juice, cooked egg, cereals, bread, jam, butter, etc, all on your table for you. Room was comfortable and shower was nice. The building where we slept/ate is a historical postal stop from an era ago, I think for Italy/Switzerland. There are several rooms with historical artifacts and photos. Very charming. You can buy their dairy products on site from a vending machine (milk, yogurt, desserts, etc.), or also in town. Very easy check-in/check-out procedures. Short drive to Lake Como or Chiavenna. Also easy to access St. Mortiz, if you want.
− You will definitely need a car to get to/from here. It is located on a farm in a small village in Val Chiavenna. Just beautiful, and peaceful, but if you are looking for a lot of activity around you, this wouldn't be the place for you.
