Dawlish family holiday 07/25

10.0

Dawlish has held a special place in my heart ever since I first went there with my grandparents when I was younger. This was the first time I've had the chance to bring my family down to the south coast, and also the first time we've had a host rather than a caravan or hotel room. Our host was amazing, they kept us informed about whats was happening and when we would receive all the access information, and they were very patient with me as I had a few questions. All of which were answered very quickly. We arrived a little later than expected (M5 Bristol traffic), but our host had provided us with some handy areas to park, one of which was right next door so made unloading the car very easy. When we entered the apartment everything was clean, tidy and as one would expect. The apartment is at the top of the building, hence its name, and as you enter you come onto the hallway where the bedrooms and bathroom is, with stairs leading up to the living area. There were two bedrooms, both with double beds and ample pillows (helpful for securing our nearly 3 year old in her first double bed). Both rooms had a large amount of storage space in large wardrobes. The bathroom was clean and tidy with a large shower. The best was yet to come, as you ascend up the stairs to the living area you are greeted with windows looking out in every direction over Dawlish. The view is amazing, and when we woke up the next morning, the sunrise was just lovely to see. It felt like we were the first people to see it. There is a lovely corner sofa, again with ample pillows and a large TV. There is a quaint wooden dining table with a number of stools, and a cocktail making set. My nearly 3 year old was very intrigued by it, and kept asking what it was used for. As parents what we found really helpful was the fact that the apartment had a large sized washing machine.

There is nothing we didn't like about the property. Having a 3 year old on holiday can be tricky, you end up taking as much as the car allows, but honestly this apartment felt like a home away from home. My wife and I loved it, and I think, given the chance, my daughter would want to stay there.
