10.0The information booklet was exceptional with recommendations and information, it was lovely and quiet, everything you needed in accommodation
Very good annex for two people in a nice country village; perfect for a short stay.
9.0Self catering apartment for 2 people. Very comfortable bed and good ventilation, as it was vert hot weather during our stay. Very clean and modern upstairs annex. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided to start us off on arrival, and 2 cupcakes were a nice touch. Parking on site was very convenient, and there are eating out and shopping facilities in the village.
− Apartment was OK for a simple breakfast; no hob though, if you wanted to boil eggs, for example. A microwaveable bowl and a cleaning up cloth would be useful, and very little cost to provide these items. To scramble eggs we had to use a cereal bowl; fortunately no damage.

10.0Amazing accommodation. Our 5th overnight stay in a row and this was by far the nicest place. Facilities are super. We will definitely be back in the future.

Great place for a 1 night stay, location near York.
9.0Nice of hosts to leave milk, sugar, tea bags and 2 pastries. Very stylish interior.
− The interior was very stylish but almost a bit too "busy" for our tastes.
Hidden Gem in Riccall
10.0Check in was simple and well explained, and the accommodation was lovely. Tracie and Oli really had thought of everything when putting the room together. We visited for a pre wedding social at Oakwood at Ryther so only needed somewhere to stay that was relatively local to stay after for a reasonable price, and The Old Maple Lodge truly went above and beyond our visiting purposes. So much so that we would definitely visit again in the future just for a weekend away!
− The only downside to The Old Maple Lodge was the difficulty in sourcing a cab for the evening due to it's relative remotness and the steep price as a result, which is more of a cab issue (and our lack of pre booking) than it is an accommodation issue, but one to be aware of when booking if you aren't planning to drive.
