6.0The owner is friendly, I like the rooftop and the price is good, the AC works well... so I wish I could give a better rating but I was a bit disappointed overall by the place. The rooms are okay but the pictures are obviously heavily edited. In reality, everything is a bit older.
− I arrived from busy Da Nang to simply relax in Hoi An for a day far away from the Old Town. Up on arrival I was already in shock to see that right next door was a big construction site. The workers were hammering between 7am and 5pm. Exactly what I didn't want. They were not really aware of my booking so had to wait for the cleaners. The cleaners used some liquid that left a very strong toxic smell in the room that lasted over an hour. I had to wait to receive the wifi password and the internet connection was unstable. According to booking it seems like all rooms are equipped with a balcony but that's not the case. I got the ground floor room that doesn't even have a window that can be opened. You are looking at a wall and the room is facing the street which means you can hear a lot of honking. Also I heard football fans shouting at around 3 am, then someone was outside in the kitchen area at 5am which sounded like the person is standing right at your bed and 7am the workers started again. So basically very little sleep. Also the room had a LOT of mosquitos. Not all of the things I mentioned are really in control of the hotel but it was still frustrating for me as a guest. The owner offered me to move the room but for an extra charge which I refused of course. If you want to show good hospitality and service, you give the upgrade for free in my opinion. Also I don't think it would have changed too much about the noise.
