Could have been magical, but the building and host let us down.

Grounds were amazing, size of property was fantastic.

− We had no hot water for over 24 hours and had black smoke coming from the chimney for a day. For the rest of the stay we had a very strong smell of burning coming through the house, specifically in certain rooms, which meant we had to shut the off. The fire exit at the back of the property had a piece of white paper on saying ‘fire exit’ yet the door was locked and there were no keys.

Cannot complain, great price, great stay. Only little improvements to make it a 10/10

Price, Space, Location. Well-stocked Kitchen. Beds were comfy, no complaints from the 3 year old!

− The key code booking.com sent for the lockbox was incorrect. Best to check with the owner before arrival. The Sink Toilet tap on the ground floor, Hot Tap loose, had to be hand-tightened during the stay. The Toilet Flush was loose on the ground floor of the Toilet, had to be hand-tightened during the stay. Wi-Fi coverage is limited to the left-hand side of the property, the Sitting room, and top floor left bedroom. This could be greatly improved through boosters or an upgrade to a Mesh Router system.

Everything about the house and grounds was exceptional, the caretaker (didn’t catch his name) who stays a few days a week was very friendly and full of knowledge about the hall

− The only thing we didn’t enjoy was having to leave

Lovely historic house which was very comfortable. Location was good with major attractions no more than half an hour away.

− If I was being picky the WiFi was not great but this didn’t really impact negatively on us as a group. We didn’t go out for meals as we wanted to cook meals in the property, a larger range of oven trays/bowls would have helped.
