Very clean! Wonderful views! Quiet neighborhood! Very private gated property with ample parking. Larger property than expected. More bedrooms and loads of bathrooms (7 full baths, 3 half baths)! Most bedrooms have an on-suite bath which is not clear when looking at the photographs. Darling village close by with shops and restaurants. The host, Carmine, was wonderful! Very responsive. He provided good tips and advice on visiting the area. When we had minor plumbing issues he came by within a few hours. Two Wi-Fi systems; one for the house and one for the pool area. Cell service was poor due to remote location, but Wi-Fi calling and WhatsApp worked well. The pool area was awesome! Nice and warm; ample lounges and chairs; ample pool towels. We stayed 13 days, so the washer was a wardrobe saver. We arrived tired and hungry from a long trip too late in the day to go to the store for supplies for breakfast. We did not use the grocery service offered but recommend that you pre-order groceries through the host to get you started.
− The road to the property is very narrow. Heed the advice to rent a small car. The fitness center was a disappointment. The treadmill did not work. The stair stepper worked okay after some minor adjustments. A couple of the mattresses were firmer than we are used to. The stove was a bit of a challenge, but we managed once we got used to its quirks. FYI - There is a long flight of stairs up to the pool and fitness center with no handrail.
We didn't even unpack so I think that sums it up.

The pool looked very nice.
− Our family vacation was planned well in advance and we were excited for our trip to Italy. The location of Villa Marika was rather remote and difficult to get to, however, our main concern was with the accommodations. Upon arrival we noticed many flies around the outdoor rusted grill and seating area. Inside, the bedrooms were located in the basement and smelled musty and damp and there was no dehumidifier. (Unfortunately the two other reviews that were posted stating the same thing - Captain Rolio on 6/1/25 and Jannazo on 6/11/25 - were added after our stay.) Due to allergies several of our family members have to mold, we refused to stay here for health reasons. In addition, the villa was advertised as having three queen-bedded rooms and one bedroom with twin beds. We arrived to find two queens, two twin beds and a room with bunk beds. Our party consisted of all adults, so bunk beds were definitely not an option for us. When researching the property we also read that there was an additional two-bed, two-bath flatlet that came with the villa. This was not initially offered nor was it ready to be occupied. Only after we asked was it offered for our group, however the shower heads were not hooked up and beds not made, etc. Needless to say, we did not feel comfortable being there and did not unpack. We contacted Booking.com immediately, who offered to reach out to the property manager for a solution. There was no response to the request and nothing was done to remedy the situation. At 10pm that night we had to find another place to stay which was very difficult due to it being the start of high season. Pricing was astronomical and all of our excursions were out of Sorrento so we had to pay double for transportation everywhere as we ended up staying an hour away. We are out $7K at this point and no effort has been made to compensate us in any way. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this property.
You can't describe this place with words. We wish we had booked more time here. :-(

Pretty much everything. The host, Mario was amazing. Attentive, quick to respond. Works hard for you to have a great time. There was a tripped breaker while we were out for the day, and we lost the gelato and milk from the fridge going out. It was after hours on Sunday. Everything was closed. He had gelato and milk delivered within an hour even though the grocery was closed. These are some of the best hosts of any property I've used on AirBnb, VRBO or Booking.com
Did a great private chef day -- Anna, the awesome private chef. EVERYTHING made from scratch. It's a hike from the Naples airport/Rail station so we arranged for her to get into the villa before us and have dinner ready when we arrived. Best thing we could have ever done. FANTASTIC food. FANTASTIC! She can make pizzas in the wood fired oven, great pasta bolognese and braciola that is making my mouth water as I write this.
Also went on one of the private boat tours of Capri -- it was really amazing, too. Davide, the tour operator (Boat #3 on the flyer Mario sent), was amazing. He had reservations at lunch, and offered us great locations to see grottos and swim. I don't think you need to bother with THE blue grotto because he took us to multiple grottos including a green one in addition to a blue one -- sure, we don't go on a rowboat for 2 minutes in the grotto, but we also didn't have to wait an hour to get into the rowboat for 2 minutes. lol
The town was charming, lots of affordable restaurant choices. You do want a car
At the end of the day, the best part was just the Villa -- we didn't tell my kids we had a private villa so when we pulled up and it said, "Villa Marika" and the gate opened, they thought it was like a hotel. When we got there, were greeted by Anna with the pizza oven going, and they started to walk around and realized it was our private place they got excited.
− Narrow, bumpy roads to get to the villa from the main road. Drop a pin in Maps right in front of the main gate so Maps doesn't send you the wrong way in the middle of the the night resulting in backing up 150+ yards on a curvy, 10 foot wide road.
Mosquitos if you didn't close all the doors.
Biggest thing we didn't like: The fact that we didn't spend 3-4 more days here just hanging out at the villa...or that we can't live in it permanently.
Other than that, my wife wants the pool area in our back yard...with all the trees.
Good

the Villa Marika view is excellent. The pool and the spaciousness of the property was great. The small decorative touches added charm to the villa.
− The difficulty getting to the villa from the main street. The extra expense of taxis. The bedrooms in the basement were damp and smelled musty. The gym equipment was old and faulty.
Incredible Outdoor Area, Not so Incredible Indoor Area
8.0
Incredible pool area with lovely view and fantastic setting and very responsive hosts who were always available to answer any questions and take grocery orders etc. The outdoor setting overall is just beautiful. Carmine was very helpful and so was the host who I messaged with.
− The bedrooms are quite basic and located in the basement. Our sheets and clothes were damp and this was a big issue for the elderly in our group. However it was May and this may not be an issue in the more summer months. The dehumidifier function in the AC system is most definitely not enough. The narrow road leading to the house is stressful. We had a station wagon and a mini SUV and it was barely manageable, I would say ensure that you have a small car.

The property was beautiful and comfortable and even the small details in the house are amazing.
− It is a little hard to get to by car where the roads are very narrow, but it is still manageable.
