Intriguing and well appointed cottage, with 10 minute walk to well stocked and beautiful town

9.0

Intriguing cottage. Plenty of room and very comfy bed (our room had two singles pushed together, so a little hard just right in the middle). Eveything worked and the facilities were good. Parking right outside the door literally, but right on a busy at rush hour and narrow road, so you'd have to watch children / pets. Steep seperate stairs to both bedroooms but reasonable if you're reasonably agile. 10 mins pleasant walk into town - down-hill there, up-hill back. Town is busy during day with tourists and locals, with lots of lovely shops, both chains/supermarkets and local/traditional. In the evening it's nothing but tranquil with lovely walks along the river. Red Lion Pub is great place to eat and/or have a drink and Co-Op caf (not the blue co-op but Derbyshire's version) does lovely cakes in the day and is ideal situated for people watching! High-Peaks just 20 mins drive.
