Lovely house but with street noise

The owner had provided clear instructions for entering the house and we were given a lovely warm welcome by the caretaker Katerina. In a nice town to stroll about, it's also a great spot for exploring this region of Crete, including gorges and beaches on the south side. We could thus recommend using the house as an exploring hub for several days. In this regard the other reviews are correct.

− However, the house is situated next to the main through-route at a busy spot where traffic passes (especially trucks and motorcycles - also those associated with the closeby takeout businesses). Whilst the inner courtyard is attractive, the loud noise severely impacted our relaxation. Despite closed windows noise can even be heard in the house.

Excellent property, ideal location for Rethymno, the mountains & beaches on the south of the island

Very clean property well equipped kitchen, lovely comfortable lounge. Excellent service from Katrina & Haris who manage the property. Nothing was too much trouble, nice bottle of wine and cakes on arrival :-)

Very nice spacious house for big families close to Rethymno

We enjoyed thoroughly our stay in Casa Leone: the house itself is beautiful and huge. The plunge pool area is very well designed and you can enjoy a refreshing splash, or enjoy a drink or two at the courtyard. We had souvlakia (the very popular local meat skewers) at the taverna at the village centre (couple of minutes walk from the house) and they were fantastic. Beds are comfortable and the air conditioning throughout the property very handy (you can set different temperatures in different rooms). We are already making plans to come back very soon!

− A second fridge upstairs would be useful.

Fantastic find for relaxing family holidays!

Casa Leone is a Cretan house full of charm and history! The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped (great espresso machine by the way), the two living rooms are very comfortable with plenty of sofas. The best area of the house is the inner courtyard with the private plunge pool, where you can relax or enjoy your dinner under the starry sky! Also, very convenient location: super market, bakery and various restaurants are all within a couple of minutes walk. Will certainly be back with the whole family!
