It was very close to the shops Nice and cosy for 2 people Close drive to the lake

− The toilet door just kept sliding open The back room there was a draft curtains needed to be blockout that would of helped

Overall, the accom was adequate for a night but a few little 'touches' would make it even better.

The accommodation had private facilities. Other available accommodation in Mangakino would have meant sharing. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped (except for lack of microwave proof dishes) but this is not clear when looking through the photographs. For example, there appears to be no stove top but there was a stand-alone induction element in the cupboard. This should be made clear.

− The pillows on the bed are shocking; way, way too big & uncomfortable. Door between living area & bathroom slides open of its own volition. The 'make do' latch could be improved. A fairly tight squeeze for four people. No table to sit up to.

Converted garage / sleep out with two bedrooms and kitchen. Ample parking on grass .Handy to river trails and quiet rural area . Kitchen had new kettle and toaster, fridge, microwave and dishes etc for self catering . Electric blankets on beds, sheets were clean and soft and the bed was comfortable. The space is quite small but adequate for my needs. Limited food options in area so byo. Clear instructions on how to find and enter property.

− Everything needed cleaning and this really let the place down. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned with obvious signs of previous guests on WC , basin and shower. Sheets were clean but pillows desperately need replacing, duvets cover was quite marked and could really do with laundering , floors were covered in grass and hair. I wiped everything down with antibacterial wipes I had in the car and vacuumed as there was so much grass .The cleaning cloth/ sponge under kitchen sink has sent better days and needs replacing. It was a cold night and I was glad of the electric blanket but was damp and cold in the morning as there is only a small oil heater in kitchen area which didn’t heat up much, but if weather not cold then this wouldn’t be an issue . The bathroom sink is small so you need to leave toothbrush in the kitchen and it’s too small to wash your face in but not a big deal. My main criticism however is that it really needs to be properly cleaned. Mould all over window frames, hairs on toilet and in sink, grass in shower, crumbs on bedside table are not ok at over $250 NZ a night.

The beds was comfortable. Nice lounge. Shower room was nice.

Good little cosy cottage. Would consider staying again.
