A great place to stay - will stay again!

The house is gorgeous and in an excellent location. Having a pool makes all the difference and perfect for entertaining the (grown up) children. The beach, the town centre and the supermarkets are all close by. The owner was easily contactable before, during and after check in.

− Just lacking an air con unit in the kitchen/lounge area, otherwise it was perfect!

Beautiful home and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again and again….

The garden was beautiful and well kept the pool was very inviting. The property was very tastefully renovated.

− The third bedroom was a little hot at night. No ac and no screen on the window.

Lovely home in Karystos - close to centre

“My experience with the owners was fantastic—the communication was 100%. The accommodation itself was new and lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay in the main house. The swimming pool was as advertised, although it could have been a bit bigger. The garden was beautiful but, being on a windy island like Karystos, it affected how much we could use the pool. Additionally, the second and third bedrooms were detached. The second bedroom didn’t have air conditioning, which was disappointing and therefore we could not use, it also smelt of burnt coal. However, the third bedroom, with its own shower room, was cozy and comfortable. Overall, it was a lovely stay with just a few areas that could be improved.”

− “We were aware that the second and third bedrooms were detached, we initially thought they would be wall-to-wall with the main house. The second bedroom, which was attached to the main property, couldn’t be used due to no air conditioning. Additionally, the third bedroom (the room furthest from the house) which had its own shower, did not have locks on the first night. This was very disappointing, as it made us feel unsafe, particularly for our daughter, who ended up sleeping in the main house that night. Fortunately, the owners were responsive and installed new locks the following day, which made us feel much more secure, they also offered my some compensation for this, which was nice of them. “While the garden was absolutely beautiful, it impacted our use of the pool due to the windy nature of the island. We found ourselves spending each morning and afternoon cleaning the pool just to use it daily. I would recommend installing some netting around the trees to reduce the number of leaves that end up in the pool, which would make pool maintenance much easier. Additionally, the accommodation is designed for 6 peoples, there were only two sunbeds and two bean bags loungers available. On a hot island, this limits the number of people who can comfortably sunbathe at the same time. Providing four sunbeds would be more appropriate for this Accomodation. I also recommend to install a safe so that guests could leave their valuables such as passports/money etc. As new owners renting your property, I highly suggest gardeners and pool maintenance staff to come early in the morning like 8am as to not disturb guests stay. 5pm is too disruptive, especially as the pool guy comes twice a week and the gardener once weekly (this is our experience staying at different villas) “I would hesitate to recommend this accommodation for families with young children, as the second and third rooms are separate from the main building.

Just a wonderful place for those who love real Greece!

We have just spent a wonderful week in this beautifully and just renovated villa in Karystos. The house has been restored with exquisite taste and equipped with quality fittings providing everything you could want during your stay in this lovely Greek town. The garden has been beautifully planted with lush vegetation providing a calm spot to relax and unwind with a lovely plunge pool to cool off at any time of the day. There are spots where you can soak up the suns rays or areas which provide shade for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And all of this is located just a few hundred meters and an easy stroll from the harbour with all of its lovely coffee shops, tavernas & restaurants and even the nearest beaches don’t need a car. But what made our stay really special was the welcome and contact that we had with the owners Raukia and Peter. Not only is it evident from the very first moment that you meet them that they want to do everything they can to ensure that you have a wonderful stay, but their sincerity and kindness just shines through and makes Urban Villa a very special place for those that seek a truly Greek experience in a real Greek town away from the mass market tourist resorts. We really hope that we can return again one day and I guess there’s no better recommendation that we can provide!
