- O edifício tem algum encanto histórico.

− - Primeiro não foi esta a casa que reservei: na véspera de chegar a Pavia a HOST4U comunica-me que a Casa Alessia (que eu tinha reservado e pago) afinal não está disponível e apresenta-me como única solução a Casa Foscolo, sem me fazer notar que a casa não tem as mesmas características. Contrariamente ao que eu queria, a casa não tem ar condicionado. Um calor absolutamente insuportável. Por aqui se vê que a HOST4U não é confiável, altera sem cuidado as condições da reserva. Com eles nunca se poderá saber o que pode acontecer. - Depois éramos 3 pessoas e o quarto só estava preparado para 2 pessoas, ou seja, não havia a segunda cama, nem havia lençóis e toalhas para a terceira pessoa. Um desastre! - Comuniquei insistentemente com o sr. Matteo da HOST4U a pedir lençóis e toalhas e ele não fez absolutamente nada: deixou-nos duas noites sem toalhas e sem lençóis. Ignorou o problema e não respondeu. - Além disso o pavimento da casa estava sujo, a TV não funciona, a luz do WC não funciona e o pátio da casa (ao entrar à noite) não tem qualquer iluminação (um escuro de breu que mete medo). - Mas o pior foi o calor: a casa funciona como um forno, nem com janelas abertas; e lá dentro nem uma ventoinha. - Esta casa está longe do centro e longe da Estação Central de comboios de Pavia. - Quanto ao dinheiro foi honesto: devolveu a importância já paga pela Casa Alessia.

The apartment itself was great. Very spacious, comfortable bed, excellent water pressure & hot water, and very quiet at night. The neighbors were polite and friendly. The location was great for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, and the churches/museums. The food in the restaurants was superb, and (as an American) I felt the prices were almost ridiculously inexpensive. But for the terrible conditions of the property while under construction (and especially the dangerous/illegal/uncomfortable means by which to access the lockbox), I would have rated this property a 9. So, before reserving the property, I recommend that you contact them to inquire about the status of construction there. When the restoration is complete, this will be a wonderful place to stay.

− We felt unlucky in our stay. We loved the room itself & the location, but the building is under restoration. So, I had to ignore all the prohibition signage to remove orange safety netting & crawl under the scaffolding to get the keys from the lockbox. Do not attempt if you have mobility issues. Our car's side-mirror was vandalized when parked on the street--someone in the neighborhood resents outsiders & over the course of days we found 4 other cars similarly vandalized (the locals' cars have particular parking passes displayed--they were unharmed). Park in the nearby Gorizia public parking--safe and cheap. The interior courtyard was also scaffolded & had lots of equipment stored all around. Not at all like the photos. One morning the pneumatic drilling equipment started at 7:30. Two days later, the painters arrived & our apt. reeked of oil paint for three days, even though we kept the entire apt. closed up (the smell was even worse outside). We think the smell came in through the opening for the water heater, but the windows, too, must have allowed for seepage--it was very strong). I slept with a mask on to keep down the smell. After that, the plumbers arrived one afternoon, & we had to stay home for hours in order to let them work on fitting the exterior pipe for the water heater in the bathroom. No alert from the management that this would be happening. The kitchen "basics" included one 10ml packet of olive oil, 2 packets of white vinegar, & 8 packets of pepper. All of the construction headaches would have been acceptable if we had only been informed by the property manager beforehand that we should expect these things. Even the photo instructions for check-in showed the building without scaffolding, so the information must have been months out of date (given the dates listed on the construction permit). Not being warned in advance of these conditions made us feel rather betrayed by the management.
