Great loft space with shower

− Only one towel provided on arrival.. other arrived but after they were needed No tea coffee or milk.. again enough coffee provided for 3 cups but no milk for the morning No decent mugs Bedding clean but rest of it felt used and in need of a good scrub Someone had used the loo for a #2 and toilet wasn’t cleaned prior to our arrival Most importantly, the bed is broken. The mattress is way beyond its shelf life. These issues are in previous reviews. My bad for not checking thoroughly before booking. House is for sale so maybe there’s a lack of motivation to sort issues. Owners Mum very smiley 😊. And no I didn’t raise these issues at the time as am trying to avoid conflict on my time off. Listed as being in Swithland. It’s not, it’s in Cropston. Again I didn’t double check when booking.

-Nice, quiet area and building separate from the host’s property -Good free WiFi

− First issue we encountered was cigarette ash on the bathroom floor and the bathroom smelt like smoke, we later found a cigarette but in the room… The freeview on the TV didn’t work either The bedsheets didn’t feel, smell or look clean and there were blood stains on the pillow cases, blood stains on the duvet AND on the towels! The mattress was extremely uncomfortable due to springs digging in your back and we also had 1 pillow each and the smaller decorative pillows had rips in the casings. We had 1 toilet roll to last two full days and the hand soap in the bathroom was just filled with water, not just this but the bathroom was FILTHY. Hygiene and cleanliness should’ve been up to standard however it was VERY POOR, after discovering bloody stains on everything it put us off our stay completely. After complaining, the following morning we were given 1 toilet roll, 1 pillow case and 2 new towels. The bed sheets never got changed and cigarette ash in the bathroom didn’t get cleaned, we were half expecting a ‘cleaner’ to rectify the issues as the host told us she had contacted the cleaner and would come and view the room with us and discuss it which never happened. The room was never viewed or discussed. I laid a towel down in the bed to sleep on, rather than sleeping on disgusting bed sheets! Very disappointing stay to say the least.

As breakfast was not included, we brought cereal bars with us. The location was perfect for our purposes - very close to Stonehurst Farm where we were attending the National Austin Rally.

− As last year we found that there was no tea towel, we brought our own this time. There appeared to be items stored e,g, a large TV screen. A smaller TV was in situ but we couldn't get it to work.
