Great location. Nice cottage. We enjoyed our trip.

− Could have done with a few extra kitchen utensils/equipment as very limited for a self catering cottage but we managed with what was available.

Only a couple minutes walk from the town centre

− The fridge had a very unpleasant smell and the parking spaces are very small

Hidden gem in County Durham

The location of the house was excellent. Local co-op and Morrisons within a 4 minute walk. Barnard castle is less than 10 minutes away. Various pubs, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Very clean and well maintained house. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and bathroom. Lounge area was great with a comfy sofa, small table with chairs and other seating. Smart TV with Netflix etc (if you have an account log in to use) Paved garden at the rear for a quiet cuppa, weather permitting. The communication from the owners prior to arrival was excellent. They even have an App with hints, instructions etc to help with our stay. Very nice touch!

− Not a problem for us, but there is no hand rail for going up and down the stairs, and may be a problem for some. Having said that, with a little care, the stairs are easily managed. Parking could be a bit tricky if busy, but during our stay it was ok. The provided app gives suggestions about alternatives if needed.

The fittings and furnishings in the cottage were to a very high standard. It was very comfortable ,clean and beautifully decorated.

− The stairs would be difficult for people with mobility issues.
