Excellent location in the center of Cascais, with everything you could possibly need nearby (beach, shops, restaurants, public transport/"comboio", etc.) within walking distance. The apartment was comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The host was super friendly and prompt in replying to our queries.

− The apartment is on the first floor above a very busy bar, so you might want to keep the noise in mind if you are a light sleeper. If not, I would say go ahead and book it!

Loistava sijainti vanhassa kaupungissa lähellä rantoja. Asunto oli riittävästi varusteltu ja avaimen saanti helppoa.

− Alapuolen kadulta kuului yöllä aika kova meteli mutta korvatulpat päässä pystyi nukkua. Tyynyt olivat tosi litania ja kulahtaneita.

Terrible. We ended up having to book somewhere else for the rest of the stay.

Its a nice bright apartment and clean

− The apartment is directly above a nightclub. The nightclub goes till 2pm and pumps out music inside and out to the balcony on the street. The drunk crowd hangs around till 4:30 pm talking loudly even after the music has stopped. This is far beyond acceptable street noise. And this was out of season on a normal tuesday night. After a long day travelling woth my son this was pure torture having to listen to this till 4:30am. Ear plugs weee useless it was so loud.

It was the perfect place for doing work and enjoying some leisure time, too, with three beaches on the doorstep (2 to 10-minute walk). The station (train to Lisbon) is close, and a good supermarket (Auchon) near the station makes life as little touristic as possible. The host has responded to all the suggestions made by other reviewers: there is everything you need for cooking, and blackout curtains that help sleep with the old-town lighting. The little balcony gives some outside space while still being private (no people in the opposite house). I very much liked the practicality of the interior (much wardrobe space, bedside lights), combined with clarity (not too much decoration, spotlessly clean) and some personal touch.

− Nothing I can think of on the host's side. The reviews make it clear that the place is located on a busy old-town street. The music from the bar below the place was not the worst; it is the (live) music that comes from all sides, especially on the weekend, that needs some equanimity, but Ohropax did it for me. With sunshine, the place is full of tourists, including on the beaches and in the traffic. But what do you expect from a seaside resort close to the capital, when the same is true for Lisbon itself? The early morning hours are still just enchanting.
