This room set a new personal benchmark for disappointment

The pleasant greeting by Khun Neng upon our arrival. I tried to keep an open mind because the price wasn't so high and yet, seriously at every turn, the room kept disappointing me.

− Lets start with the room. The vibe felt like a premium hotel from 1970's with almost everything felt like decades old. The room reminded me of my grandparents' room when I was a child including the bed, pillows, and the mattress. Anyone specifically looking for an authentic premium 1970's hotel experience may enjoy it. Everyone else may not. Then there was the air conditioning. We were informed of the 20kw limit rule, meaning if you use electricity above the limit, you will be charged extra. We chose to run the only one in the small bedroom since its just for a night. However set at 18 degree celsius, I still needed the overhead fan at full speed to cool the room to the level which at best can be described as Bangkok's temperature in the month of January or February. Warm with occasional cool winds. Now we come to the bathroom. The right hand sink drained so slowly that the water remained there for almost half an hour before disappearing. The shower's hot water gave me a movie experience where one character shouts, “Don’t use up all the hot water.” Within minutes, the water went from hot to warm and then settled permanently at room temperature. Lastly we come to the biggest disappointment of all: the jacuzzi/ bath tub. At first sight it looked beautiful, majestic, and strangely out of place. However, the looks were the only thing it has going on for it for it has a complicated hot-water system. Khun Neng, when I called to ask for help, advised me to slowly turn the knob to find "the sweet spot" rather than to the fully red zone like a normal tap. I sat there testing the knob at every slight turn for 45 minutes and still got no hot water. What irritated me more was the call I received the next day, after having already left the hotel. Khun Neng informed me the hot water was working normally — in a tone that suggested I had made the problem up. Of course it worked for them. They knew where the exact secret position for the knob.
