The location was perfect and the staff were very friendly

− This property was marketed as a luxury accommodation, but unfortunately it fell well short of that standard. On arrival, we found the outdoor furniture needed cleaning before it could be used, and the patio was full of weeds. It was clear that work had recently been carried out at the property, and it had not been left in an acceptable condition for paying guests. Most concerning was that one of the toilets had not even been flushed, which raised serious doubts about whether the property had been cleaned properly before our arrival. Inside, both sofas were broken, the carpets were heavily stained, and the dining table was far too small to accommodate all nine members of our party, making it impossible for us to eat together comfortably. There were numerous other issues, but what made the experience particularly disappointing was the occasion. We had booked this property to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday, a special family milestone, and the condition of the house significantly detracted from what should have been a memorable and enjoyable celebration. Given the premium price charged and the property's description, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation.

Perfect location, well equipped.

− Decor was a little tired. We had trouble accessing the property as the key to the gate was very difficult to use, it took us 15 minutes to open it.

The location is great and the house is generally well appointed although some things look a bit shabby now and the kitchen equipment is not adequate for 9 people (no large saucepan and not enough pans, lack of large cooking/serving dishes, no kitchen scissors, etc). The shower door strip in the attic hasn’t been cleaned or replaced in years and is quite disgusting. The cleaning was below average throughout with cobwebs hanging in all rooms and lack of thoroughness . The yard is filthy and has not been cleaned in ages. No place you’d want to sit out at all. Needs a thorough clean and repaint and refurbishment. The carpets need cleaning throughout. We love this house and have visited before but this time it felt below standard and like nobody had bothered with it much. The price implies a much higher standard.
