2.0BEWARE !! Please read before booking 1) with this rental company 2) with the travel insurance company 3) through AARP travel. We rented the Abright cabin and purchased travel insurance. They require you to pay so far in advance, it’s ridiculous ; first red flag which I regrettably ignored. The day before our rental started was the awful weather event that wiped out so much of this beautiful area. We were sure it would affect the rental but were. told to “come on! Weathers great, no problems here!” Arrived about a mile from rental where police said we had to turn around, leave the town asap no access due to flooding People were being emergency evacuated from entire area and people lost their lives doing so! Meanwhile, rental company was telling me to ignore this and follow their rerouted directions to the cabin. We left town and headed back towards home. Ended up spending a night in a hotel on the way home but otherwise called the trip a bust and requested a refund. We were denied a refund and rental company refused to ever acknowledge that the cabin was inaccessible. Worst customer service ever and frankly I find it abhorrent how callous they were to the whole situation where towns were wiped out from Cosby (where we rented) to Asheville NC and beyond.
