Great view, clean, a few adjustments required

The view is absolutely beautiful - the best feature by far. The main room is very large and pleasant, a combined kitchen, dining room and sitting room area. Three of the four bedrooms are tucked behind this large space and they are kind of dark and slightly airless. Better ventilation would be good.

− A few relatively minor quibbles. Completely inadequate crockery and cutlery, the selection of drinking glasses is poor. The large sofa is extremely uncomfortable and should be replaced by two normal sofas and some easy chairs. Also, the dining room chairs are basically outside loafers and far too low.

Our stay was not very pleasant as the standard of this unit did not meet the basic expectation.

location and the sea view

− We stayed at this vacation home in mid-May when the weather was around 14–15°C with rain and cloudy skies. Unfortunately, the house was quite cold upon arrival as there was no central heating turned on. The host only provided a few portable heaters, which were not sufficient for the whole unit. It took multiple discussions before the host finally agreed to turn on the main heating system. The cleanliness of the house was also disappointing. We found hair on the pillows and the bedsheets seemed like they had just come out of the washing machine—crumpled and not properly laid out. There was visible dust throughout the house, suggesting that it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. In terms of amenities, the furniture was quite worn out. Although it is a four-bedroom unit, there was only one old dining table suitable for about six people. Overall, our stay was not very pleasant, and we expected a higher standard for a vacation rental of this size.

Great location, spacious, quiet. Fantastic view over the sea and towards the Island with a nice garden. A few toys for the kids. Great, helpful, and friendly host.

− Kitchen was too small and under-equipped for the size of property / number of guests. General cleanliness was poor, especially in the main bathroom. Very expensive for what we got.

Lovely place to stay in Powell River.

− Cutlery, glasses, wine glasses and tea towels could be improved. No TV or dishwasher.

This is not a villa. It’s a basement suite. We expected it to be associated with the Four Seasons hotel chain; it is not. It’s a basement of a private home in a residential neighbourhood. The view is real. The beds are comfortable. The lights in the kitchen also turn on the lights in the master bedroom, so when one of our party got up at 1am, they woke me up by turning the lights on in my bedroom. He was kept awake by a low battery alarm on his doorknob constantly making an alert sound. The other member of our party found the toilet would not flush. This was a business trip, my first with these partners, so I was very embarrassed. The advertising is misleading.
