Feels like an old family home.
10.0This property is a true classic - a step back in time! (In all the best ways😉) Our suite in the main structure was extremely comfortable and spacious- nice to have room to spread out our stuff to facilitate packing for the trip home! We spent most of our days out and about, so didn’t take advantage of the grounds like we perhaps should have, but there’s a lovely terrace for breakfast seating, and on the main level, benches perfect for an evening glass of wine. Note that there is no elevator (in the main building), but with only two above ground stories, it would only be a problem for some- and I believe there are other rooms on the property with ground level entrances. The property is gated, so very secure, if that is a particular concern. Larger vehicles might find it difficult to gain entry.

10.0A stunning property—the chance to stay in a palace for a few days is well worth the money. The location is perfect—peace and quiet, yet just a 15-minute drive from the city. Right behind the hotel is the ocean and beautiful walking paths. Delicious breakfasts. I highly recommend it.
Magical atmosphere
8.0A wonderful, historic manor house with a truly magical atmosphere. We felt as if we had stepped back in time :) We didn’t expect too much, as it was only a one-night stay, but the hotel did not disappoint us. Beautifully located, full of antique furniture and photographs in the communal areas. A modest, but perfectly adequate breakfast.

10.0Solar de Lalem is a beautiful old home with lovely grounds. The pool felt private, was so clean and very relaxing. We wandered 5 minutes down the road into the small town of Maia for a delicioius dinner and beautiful evening.

− Todo es excesivamente antiguo y sin mantenimiento. Si lo cuidasen algo más y cambiasen y modernizarse los baños y algunas estancias sería un gran alojamiento. Nunca me gustó dormir en habitaciones con muebles de los tatarabuelos , donde ha muerto tanta gente. Me daba un poco de repelús. La cadena redecorada podría ser de Relais &Chateaux. La persona encargada de recibir y dar desayunos nada agradable.
