Good clean budget small self contained room on side of house with fridge, freezer, shower and microwave facilities. As described

− Freezer buzz a bit noisy and some noise from the main house next door when light switches clicked n bathroom was used. Not a big problem though

While this is a homestay accommodation, the room is obtained from the conversion of the garage of the house, which means that it has an independent entrance and a small private bathroom. The cleanliness of the room was ok (though I am allergic to dust and mites and unfortunately the bed mattress gave me an allergy). Kettle, microwave oven, and fridge (I only used the kettle once).

− Small extra costs not clearly listed on booking.com: I was asked to pay a deposit of 100 GBP, as well as a non-refundable fee of 5 GBP. As my credit card is in EUR and the deposit was in GBP I anticipate that overall this may cost me 15-20 GBP extra on top of the advertised price (non-refundable fee + bank fees + currency conversion fees); I don't know the exact amount because I haven't received my deposit back yet. Check-in time not super flexible. No desk in the room, or chair to sit; bathroom basin so small that I barely could fill the mug; no place to hang wet towels in the bathroom. Broken blinds on the entrance-door, flimsy accordion bathroom-door. There was no hair dryer (the landlord managed to get one to me on the last evening of my stay). The small quirks of living in a converted garage: it had nice plasterboard walls, but there were no windows other than the entrance door, with poor air circulation. The place loses temperature quickly if not heated. Until literally 10 minutes before the check-in time, I didn't know the address where I would stay (booking.com gives the name of the street, but I could not find anywhere that the street number was 82B).
