I’m a very seasoned traveller and this was definately the worst service and worst value for money that I have experience
3.0The room was clean and all fine although it was not serviced during our stay (three nights although should’ve been four). Breakfast was just about average but we thought the toast was very stale and had been made early in the morning and kept hot until needed. Balance of breakfast was ok but I would describe as scraping average by B&B standard.
− We hit significant delays on our journey to the Lakes B&B and even though we had arranged in advance to arrive much later than 7pm (we estimated 10pm in our exchange of messages) we received a text whilst driving (so we didn’t actually get to read it) which said that we were too late to check in that night at 21:37pm (in response to us letting them know about the delay at a service stop) and we would have to find an alternative place to stay, so when we discovered the message on arrival to the B&B at just after 11pm there was no answer, and we were unable to get a response from the B&B until 11:58am the next day. No refund was offered neither was any acknowledgement of what had occurred. We had paid in advance and it was a bank holiday weekend so we were left stranded without anywhere to stay after a long week at work and a 7 hour journey. The free parking is not actually free, the offer of staying at one of three car parks for a refund is the actual arrangement. But all three of these car parks are always full by virtue of being the cheapest offering locally so in practical terms parking was not free.

10.0The hosts were very welcoming, had room ready prior to arrival check in time - had to be out early one morning prior to the breakfast time - they ensured that I was able to have light breakfast instead. Breakfast was incredible excellent products. Location perfect. Would make it first choice to stay again.
A fantastic place to stay in Ambleside.
10.0Clare and Eugene’s property is very comfortable with everything you could need. It is wonderfully located in the centre of Ambleside and Clare organised parking for us just down the road. Breakfast was great. We had a lovely stay. Cannot recommend highly enough.
