OK, but not great

We love La Gomera, this was our third trip. Alojera is a great base - lovely town with sunset views. The accommodation was ok, but not great. The beds were terribly uncomfortable - I woke up every morning with pain and cut blood circulation. Other furniture was the same. The granny style decor might be to someone ‘s likening, but not to ours. Facilities just barely work: the shower is leaking, the door didn’t fully open, the outside grill didn’t have wood (the host doesn’t provide it and there is nowhere to buy it). There was not enough toilet paper and towels provided. The communication about arrival was poor, we only found the place thanks to friendly locals - Google doesn’t lead you there. Overall, we would not stay there again.

We really enjoyed our one week stay at San Borondon

Alojera is a nice small village scattered across a gentler face of the island. San Borondon is closer to the beach side albeit still on a substantial elevation (and a good 20mins through steep downhill to get to the beach). Due to the village's scattered quality, the house is quite quiet. The house has been well renovated and the kitchen has enough utensils for cooking.

− The mattresses were just middle ground comfortable, and on the firmer side. The windows are all single pane, so although the overall environment is quiet, if there are louder noises for any reason, they come through. The fridge does not have a freezer compartment.

Lovely location in beautiful Alojera.

A lovely quiet location just above the beach in Alojera, but not too far from the village centre where there’s a bar and a small shop.

− The outside area was a bit stark and would be improved by some plants in pots. Also the beds could be more comfortable.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful surroundings but very remote

Very quiet surroundings, also at night. Amenities (kitchen, washing machine, shower) were reasonable for the price. The only restaurant in town is reachable on foot and had good food.

− Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Location is beautiful if you’re looking for something very remote, but hard to reach and get around (hike, shop for food) without a vehicle.
