Brilliant long weekend with our family in a lovely house

10.0

The Coach House is in a lovely Peak District village. We were there for a family weekend with our children, grandchildren and a dog. The house worked very well for three generations. We especially liked the hard floors on the ground floor as it was easy to clean for muddy shoes and paws. There was also a handy mop and bucket that we used one particularly wet day. There was also plenty of off street parking, which was great because we had three cars.

The only issue was one the hosts can't do anything about. The road outside the property is very busy and the pavements are quite narrow, which meant walking along the main road wasn't easy.

Very enjoyable get together

8.0

Space, decor and comfort.

Very squeaky floorboards and lighting in kitchen too bright for meals. A wood burner or fire of some sort in the living room would be great. The description of the property should include the reduced headroom in bathrooms and bedrooms

Great location, lovely downstairs of property!

6.0

The location was perfect, really close to Bakewell and all the sites of the Dale's. Lovely pub across the road. The downstairs of the property was nice with a lovely lounge to socialise with family. Nice comft sofa's. Kitchen facilities were fine.

The upstairs was so small and cramped (aside from master bedroom). Low sloped ceilings in the bedroom, making it difficult to sleep two adults. The shared bathroom was so small and cramped. The floorboards were incredibly noisy and any movement created a terrible noise. The towels were too small, not sure why large bath towels cannot be provided. The garden was much smaller than we thought from the image provided but was adequate enough for the dogs to go out for toilet. The net on the downstairs bathroom window was not very private.

Rustic family friendly space in good location.

9.0

Good space for a family and/or group. Big longe and spacious kitchen. Large kitchen table great for meals and playing games.

Bed in one of the smaller double rooms was not that comfortable. Crockery, glasses and cook ware was a bit of a mixture rather than matching sets. Hob and oven not particularly clean.

Beautiful, spacious cottage with an astonishing lovely, big sized kitchen. The bedrooms are superb, perfect blinders. The bathrooms are great, perhaps for the average size Dutchman the ceiling is a bit low :-) Parking is perfect, walled garden excellent for our dog. The central location is wonderful, also York in a 2 hrs driving distance. Very nice and supportive owners Highly recommendable.
