Wonderful location, quiet and secluded with easy access to the onsen town

Really amazing house and location. We didn't walk to the nearby onsen town, but it is walkable (a bit of a hill), and there are many walking trails around the house. This house has a fence for dogs but we didn't travel with pets and found it made a great yard for our kids to play. The onsen bath in the house is great and there is plenty of space.

− There was a lot of dog/pet fur around in the corners and around the dining table. We didn't mind as we knew this was a house for pet-owners when we booked. Also, the food from the vending machines near by is terrible. I would recommend just buying normal 7-11, Lawson or other convenience food from the store in the Kurokawa Onsen Town. If you are driving, make sure you take the main road entrance. I don't recommend driving up/down via the Kurokawa Onsen side road as it is very narrow.

The villa was new and beautiful. Have all the amenities thay we needed.

− Most reviewer said the road is up is very steep. but there are 3 options, the 3rd one is not too bad.

Awesome modern house in the forest but can be a little tricky driving to the property.

As of early Feb 2023, the property is new. The host send us the entrance code 2 days before the check-in date and had an online video call when we arrived at the property. The beds are comfy. The floor heating is nice. The kitchen came with all necessary equipments. The indoor onsen and sauna is great for the get away. (Luckily, the host was able to fix the hot spring water pump before we arrived)

− The cleanliness can be improved. There were stains on the floor and we had to use wet tissue to clean them. The host sent too many emails that it got really confusing. I think it is best to send fewer with only 1 language (either English or Japanese, depending on the guest). Cannot use the navigation map in the car since the road is recently constructed(?). The signs along the way could have been bigger. Driving up the hill to the property is not so hard (we drove Nissan Elegrand) even though the road is pretty narrow (one way) but it can get really difficult and dangerous if the road is not properly cleared. We were lucky that the leaves were off to the side of the road.
