Lovely house a short distance from town centre

9.0

Very comfortable and excellently equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfy and house was easy to keep warm. Enclosed garden worked well for our little dog.

Nothing! If I had to ask for anything, it would have been to have had some milk in the fridge on arrival (not essential but always appreciated). Location of house is in a residential area.

Lovely Cottage near the beach

9.0

Lovely location and cottage. Lots of shops nearby. Very enjoyable stay I was ill the first night so happy with the facilities. 🙂 loved the amount of art gallery's.

My daughter and husband found the double bed abit uncomfortable, but the single was very comfortable.

The garden could been maintained a lot better, lots of ants nest over patio area, under step, to the point there was piles of sand dug up from around the slabs by the ants each morning! also nests all over grass area The planted areas are full of weeds It’s a great outdoor space but needs a good sort out

Enjoyable time, Aldeburgh has a lot to offer, but cottage needs some TLC.

7.0

Apart from settee it was comfortable, ideally situated for beach and town, shower very good, beds comfortable and lots of pillows, equipment was of a high quality (smeg oven, creuset saucepans) and well supplied with implements and crockery, and parking for 2 cars.

Had to report Fire wouldn’t light, could not set central heating and flushing toilet resulted in a vey loud sound of screeching pipes. Two maintenance men came straight away and they told us 1. Part of fire needed replacing, 2. Very complicated thermostat for heating which had been set at very strange times and temperature - he set it for us but even then heating came on at 04.30am on day we left! 3. Part in toilet needed replacing. We were impressed with fact maintenance men came so quickly, and man who set heating. The men said they would report all these issues back to the office. Going forward - some suggestions for you: 1. Review instruction manuals left in cottage - there are instructions for Flymo lawnmower but none that were useful - in particular you need the following instructions - oven (we note other people in reviews had problems as well) - Fire - when it is repaired - Heating - thermostat control Also suggest you put oven gloves in kitchen - cooking a Christmas dinner using a T-Towel as a glove is not safe. Cottage has beds for 5 but only one settee (and no armchairs) and this settee would only sit 4 and then everyone would be knee to knee - suggest you need another settee or armchair. Also the instructions sent before we arrived didn’t mention where the car parking was. It is in the book in the cottage, but as parking is accessed from next street that is a bit late in the day. Luckily a neighbour told us where parking was - we got the impression she tells a lot of guests!! So suggest you put these instructions in the welcome leaflet. However as said above covered parking for 2 cars very good and convenient.
