8.0There was so much to love about this place. It had the feel of a well loved holiday home. It was super quiet. It felt like it was obligatory to wave to EVERY person that walked or cycled past. There was a family of quails that walked around the property every day. The stars were freakin amazing. The beach was right there. The walk to Matarangi was easy. What we thought was a broken clock above the door is actually a high and low tide indicator. The natural infinity pool at the rocks during high tide.
− The narrow gravel road in and out of Rings Beach was a bit of surprise. The 3hrs either side of high tide was not a nice time to swim as the beach has a real drop, but then it levels out and it becomes a great beach for swimming - during high tide just go to the rocks to the west (left) and paddle in what is an infinity pool!
Want the most basic facilities for an outrageous price - then this is the place for you!
2.0Location was fantastic!
− Cockroaches in the shower and pantry. Kitchen went in to 2 rooms….the fridge was opposite the toilet which was about 1.5 mtrs away - separated only by a bi-fold door! Thinnest of bathroom towels one could ever imagine. Beds not even made. Had to search for the ONE oil heater that was suppose to heat this 2 bdrm brick bach. No insulation or carpet in this ‘bach’ made for a cold stay.
Great spot and a great experience!
