The two nights we stayed at Brown’s cottage were absolutely amazing!

The property had everything we could want, so many comfy blankets everywhere, the fire was amazing and so easy to light, and great fences for my two dogs that stayed with us.

− The only thing that could be improved is to have a more accessible powerpoint next to the bed for devices.

We loved the surrounding area, it was lovely and green as well as very peaceful. We loved how dog friendly our stay was. There were even some dog towels and toys there for the dogs! The fireplace was great and kept the cottage nice and warm. Photos did not do this stay justice! We walked in and were blown away with how lovely and cosy the inside of the cottage was. Short drive to all of the local attractions including Bilpin Cider, Hillbilly Cider as well as various cafes and fruit shop. Would love to come back!

− We found the pillows uncomfortable (but this could purely just be personal preference!) but we did find getting to sleep a bit challenging. But still had a very comfortable stay.

Peaceful and quiet stay at Browns

The kitchen was very well-equipped with various cookware, crockery, condiments, tea, coffee etc. Thanks to the hosts for providing a bowl of eggs and 2 milk cartons for our stay. The cottage was extremely spacious and comfortable for two persons, and the fireplace kept us warm (thanks for the generous firewood provided). The location is peaceful and quiet with little activity around and is an hour drive to where Katoomba or Wentworth Falls are, where there are more walks and things to see.

− Nothing we didn't like. It would be great if there is a washing machine!

Secluded and homely comfort.

Very well equipped, lots of thoughtful touches. Surrounded by trees with lots of birdlife. Fireplace with enough wood for one cold night, so if staying longer in winter you need to bring your own extra wood, or buy more locally. The aircon struggles a bit on its own in the large open-plan high-ceiling space, but everything is toasty warm with the wood fire going. Excellent warm bed with electric blankets. It`s a bit of a hike to the usual Blue Mts walks, lookouts, restaurants, shops and other attractions, although Mt Tomah Gardens, with its daytime cafe is a short drive. There is a good rustic pie-shop, and Melange restaurant, at Bilpin which is a very short drive from the accommodation. No grocery shop nearby, but the hosts have provided basic necessities like salt, suger, cooking oil etc; otherwise, you need to be self-sufficient. If you feel like a tree change and rural solitude with homely log cabin ambience, rather than bright lights, this should suit you. very well - we certainly enjoyed our stay.

It was very cosy and private. It had a fully fenced yard which was great for our dog.

− The hub getting into the shower was very high. Not suitable for elderly people. No Rangehood above the stove.
