10.0Just what we needed… Albeit at the side of a road the road is extremely quiet with very little traffic at all… It’s secluded and charming, quaint, elegant and timely….. 2 donkeys in the field right beside it whom we named Bacardi & Coke…!
− Even though we wanted total relaxation I had learned that there was no TV in the property but I brought one with us and a digital aerial and hey presto…!
Would stay again but wifi and independent access would be a must. The check in process was very confusing and clumsy.
10.0Secluded, historical feel. The stove and old books and CD player with traditional Irish music options was particularly enjoyable!
− It was a huge bother (especially not having service) to have to arrange to meet Brenda at the property when it would have been easy to simply get the key pad code. Work would have also been appreciated as I thought it had that when we booked our stay.
We enjoyed the quirkiness of the gatelodge & the lovely rural location.
8.0Made it myself & brought ingredients, which was as expected. Transport is a must for this stay. Lovely location on country estate.
− I picked up on damp dog whiff on entering property, think lots of pets have stayed, but everything was clean. Found the underfloor heating a bit too warm. People with mobility problems would find the spiral staircase a challenge.

10.0So quaint and comfy. And a beautiful setting in the countryside with two lovely donkeys next door! very close to Bushmills town so really good location and Brenda was lovely showing me around and making me feel so welcome. dog friendly too for our wee schnauzer with dog towels & dog biscuits left in a wee basket. So lovely, highly recommend this Gate Lodge will definitely book again. 😃
