The cottage was lovely, sparking clean and cozy. Watching the chickens from the kitchen window and listening to the birds was so relaxing. It's nestled in a lovely garden which meant there were a lot of birds around even though it was in thr middle of winter. The fireplace was lovely and having extras like coffee, sugar and some milk and board games was fantastic. We had a blood nose incident overnight on the second night, bleeding all over the sheets. We washed all the sheets out had to leave them wet in the bath on check out. Lisa was really lovely about it though and we very much appreciate it!

− It did clearly state in the description of the bedrooms that the second bedroom had smaller than normal beds with the sizes. We thought this would be fine, but in reality it probably was an oversight by us. We were all a bit too tall for the second bed and had to swap around the second night so our daughter could get a good night's sleep. It would be perfect for younger or smaller children though!

We stayed for 11 nights and were made welcome.

Great getaway from the city. Private and quiet.

My husband & I had a great wknd away in the Butterworth Cottage. Cottage was clean & well maintained, bed was super comfy and the fire was just perfect for our little winter getaway. Has a secluded feeling even though you’re on a shared property with the owner. Lisa was so helpful, even helping us with our bags when we arrived in the dark. Waking up to the chickens out the kitchen window and fresh laid eggs for breaky was the cherry on top. We had a car and it was about a 3 minute drive into the town. So easy- we loved our stay!

Great for a getaway friendly hosts & cute cottage

Located in a quiet bush setting close to town. Kitchen has everything you need & well equipped. Cozy fireplace place & air conditioning!

− The shower temperature was hard to control.

Private oasis in historic township.

Hosts saved us the walk to and from the station. The cottage was quiet and private in a setting of native flora. Verandah overlooked garden, beautiful birds, saw a hare, very warm and cosy, deep bath, provided with eggs and pears from the garden. Hosts were attentive but not intrusive. Indian takeaway delivered to the door. Cottage located a short walk to the quaint town. Many beautiful historic buildings. The best bookshop in Australia. Couldn’t resist adding to our library. Botanic gardens are a joy and there were many excellent eating spots with excellent wines.

− Distance from station to the cottage was underestimated. Didn’t know that taxis were available. Lucky to meet Steve walking his dog who called Lisa to give us a lift to the cottage. The deep bath was beautiful but a little dangerous to exit. Slippery and no hand rail. Exercise caution to avoid catastrophe.
