1.0− We booked this pension on the same day we were supposed to stay there. We were initially convinced by the positive reviews on Booking, but as soon as we entered the address into Google Maps, we noticed a much lower rating elsewhere. Unfortunately, the reservation was non-refundable, so we had no choice but to continue. From the moment we arrived, the experience was unpleasant. The owner greeted us in an unfriendly and dismissive manner. We were informed only upon arrival that card payment was not accepted. The only options were cash or payment by QR code. This was never mentioned in advance. For international travelers without a Czech bank account, this creates unnecessary inconvenience. When paying via QR code, the owner suddenly increased the amount by adding a parking fee that had never been disclosed beforehand. The payment was made directly to a personal bank account, which also raised questions about how the business is being operated. The room itself was under the roof and unbearably hot. There was no air conditioning, no fan, and no warning that the room would become an oven during warm weather. There were also no basic toiletries such as soap or shower gel. When I politely asked whether soap was available, the owner rudely replied that they do not provide it and sarcastically asked whether I also wanted pajamas. She then started shouting at another member of our group, saying that if we didn’t like something, we were free to leave. Since our reservation was non-refundable and we simply needed a place to spend the night before continuing our journey, we decided not to argue and said we would buy soap ourselves. A few minutes later, the owner entered our room without knocking, forced a bottle of shower gel into my hands, sarcastically commented, “It’s not Dolce & Gabbana,” and slammed the door behind her. Such behavior toward paying guests is completely unacceptable.
