Host & Stay - Newington Road

Just nasty!

The location was nice regarding to fast food and grocery shopping, we didn't usually have to wait too long for a response from property managers but that was it, there was nothing else positive about our stay.

− To start we asked for an early check-in and they said that couldn't be done since they need all this time to clean as they have very high standards regarding cleanliness. That is fair and nothing to have feelings about, we saw that as a possitive as we do like our vacation home clean, but when we finally arrived it was very obvious that this place has not been cleaned for a very long time! Every single wall was dirty, and very noticeably so, same with the couch, windows, stove, airfryer, toilet and mirrors. We vould see that the rug upstairs had been vacumed but the rug under the diningroom table had not been cleaned as we found £1, crumbs and dirt on it. Someone had put toilet cleaner in the toilet bowl and it just sat there so the toilet was not cleaned but the entire property smelled of toilet cleaner. There was spiderwebb in every corner and on all lightfixtures, old and new, and some was just collecting dust and other insects. The blinds in the livingroom were broken, the kitchen sink does not hold water, the knob to turn the water off and on is loose and we noticed that the water (and soap) from dishwashing goes straight out and into the garden. There were so many trash bags in the garden and they smelled horrible in the heat!! The laundry rack was broken, and with the trashbags in the garden, so we had to clean it and prop it up to use it because there was no other way to dry our clothes. The washing machine worked but it is starting to mould!! The trashcan in the kitchen was broken, dented and dirty. The bed in the smaller bedroom was broken so one wrong move in the night and the matress falls off the panels and on the floor/trash that was under the bed. We are not so sure that the bed linen was changed in between guests as we found dead spiders on one of the pillow and another under the cover!! The beds in the bigger room are no good and you can feel the springs on your back and it is all bumpy.

− Wasn’t clean at all horrible smell when we walked in. One mug between three of us which had a big chip in it, no teaspoons no forks,had to buy washing up bowl as the water didn’t stay in the sink,was supposed to have an iron and there wasn’t one,had to wash all the pots and pans before we could use them as they were filthy,floors had been cleaned and was sticky , rubbish left at the front door we went in on a Sunday bin men dont come until Wednesday

It was very convenient and easy to reach. Arrived in pouring rain and getting into the property was easy and quick. It was excellent considering we only booked it short notice. Great communication.

− We didn't quite know what to do with certain types of waste, so we took some back with us. Some lightbulbs needed checking.

House was OK, some bits poorly maintained in the house and were reported but little response, piles of rubbish outside, garden a mess. Overall it could be better but it was usable, I wouldn’t return. Local area is OK, lots of shops etc.

House was modernised to a reasonable standard, warm and the neighbours were quiet.

− Not as well equipped as it should be to host 3+ people.
