Overall, it was dreadful. Do NOT rent this property. It was dingy, dirty and depressing.

Geographically the location was fine. The bed linen and towels were good, obviously professionally laundered. The heating and hot water worked well.

− The cleanliness was poor, particularly the carpets which were filthy, the decor was battleship grey on every surface, the walls, the colour of the sofa, the carpet, everywhere, the furniture was basic which is fair enough but the large scratch across the dining table was not visible until you took the sticky place-mats off so I didn't notice it until I was leaving. The beds were horrible, really hard, very cheap mattresses and no headboard(s), the only toilet had a stained bowl and cracked pealing toilet seat that should have been thrown away years ago! The kitchen window blind was broken, there was a blown bulb above the only useable mirror and very low wattage lightbulbs everywhere so you are groping about in the dark grey gloom. Saving the planet apart, I think the host has lowered the effectiveness of the bulbs so you cannot see how bad it is. The neighbours large van/bus and estate cars are parked right up tight to the only small lounge window, so there is no light or privacy on the ground floor at all. Also, there was no joined up communication between or involving the host and booking.com. For example, it was not made clear how I cancelled due to dissatisfaction after only one night of a four night booking. I expect that marketing photographs make somewhere look good, but it is NOWHERE near as large, bright, clean and modern as it looks and the description does not make clear that it is a tiny, back-to-back 'half house' with no rear or side door or external area other than the driveway.
