Spacious, comfortable one bed apartment in Marvão with everything you need for a longer stay. Marcelina was waiting for us on arrival and gave us a warm welcome and advice on things to do in the area. She lives half an hour away, so I would advise to try and give her an accurate arrival time if you can (we felt a bit bad when we realised she had been waiting for us for an hour!) There is convenient parking behind the hotel next to the apartment. The road seems a bit scary and narrow to enter the walls but it is actually fine with passing places if there is another car coming in the other direction. We were lucky to have an orchestra play in the castle on our last evening, which was a special experience. There are a number of restaurants close by to suit different budgets. In Portagem there is a lovely swimming area in the river with grass for relaxing. So nice on a hot summer's day. The Marvão rail bike experience was also a highlight. So much to see and do in the area. Loved our stay in Marvão!

Marvao es un pueblo rodeado por una muralla. El encanto de sus calles, su tranquilidad. La casa es muy amplia,, limpia y con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días. Parking gratuito al lado. Muy recomendable.

Location was amazing, with parking nearby, the views from the balcony were stunning, and there was a clothes line

− It was very warm, as there was only one fan; the larger room does have two windows though, allowing for some breeze
