Nice quiet place near beaches, away from hotel craziness

− There was a slightly stagnant smell in the room. Nothing awful and the room definitely appeared clean so unsure as to what it was but not any other issues

Difficult access, price changed after initial booking
6.0− There is no person on the site that can give support to access the apartment. One needs to open both the front-door to the house and the door to the apartment via door codes. We received the necessary instructions beforehand. However, on our first arrival in the late evening we couldn’t open the front-door as instructed. It turned out that the front-door has a second lock, which was manually locked from inside. We reached out to the contact person managing the apartment who was not even aware that the front-door has a second lock - and who was hence not able to help us. After more than an hour of waiting and several fruitless email exchanges with the official contact person, we were lucky to get access by chance because somebody else left the house, which enabled us to get in. As regards access to a booked apartment, that was the worst experience we have ever made. There was a second serious issue with that booking: approximately a week after having booked and paid for the apartment, we received an email saying that the price at which we booked was incorrectly stated and that we would need to pay a considerable top-up, otherwise our booking would be cancelled and the amount paid be refunded. We always thought that a contract concluded via booking.com is reliable - this experience told us otherwise.
