Location was amazing and everything we wanted to visit was within 20 minutes of walking, also the train station is pretty close. Everything was very clean and the bed is comfortable.

− It wasn’t mentioned anywhere that it is a basement appartment. The ceilings are pretty low and we are a pretty tall couple so we had to duck down while walking around. Also the price is a bit on a higher end for what you get.

The apartment has a very good setup where a kitchenette, dining and sitting area as well as a comfy bed all fit nicely into the space.

Great place to stay, would book again.

Location was great. Loved it’s almost 400 yrs old. Cool vibe and walkable to lots of pubs and restaurants

− Needed fan as it got little stuffy and hot. And a tv for winding down at night.

The host was wonderful and made us feel very welcome! We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival! The check-in process was really smooth! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the location was perfect. The room itself was beautifully styled, with a unique antique, old-school charm that created a special atmosphere.

− Nothing major to complain about. Just note that the ceiling is quite low, which could be challenging for taller guests, and there are no cooking facilities, so dining out is necessary.

A lovely studio unit in a pretty and central part of Amsterdam

Van Gogh studio is a lovely studio apartment and in a very convenient location for travellers. The unit is thematically furnished and comfortable. It has enough kitchen items to make a light breakfast or lunch easily, and plenty of crockery, glassware and cutlery. The bed is comfortable and it’s nice to have a table to eat or sit at. Elio and Maikel leave a list of local venue recommendations that is very handy and we used several of them, there are also many other close by venues to choose from at every price point. It was an easy walk to Museumplein, Centraal and many other sites, which makes it very convenient for site seeing. There is also a canal cruise stop on the opposite bank of the Amstel which was handy. All in all we had a great stay, and enjoyed the area and accommodation.

− There is limited hanging space, no wardrobe, and shelving is created by mock stairs, it works but you’ll likely be leaving a lot in your suit case if this is part of a longer trip. There are very slippery tiles in the small bathroom and the area gets very wet after having a shower. The bathroom area needs provision of non slip mats or other tile treatment to increase safety and this has been reported to the owners. We found using the hand held shower wand made less mess than using the overhead shower. A slip or fall could happen easily. This is not accomodation that would be comfortable for anyone with mobility issues.
