2.0Only saving grace was the linens were clean and the bathroom was clean
− We paid a high price for this hotel (£220 for 1 night) due to hikes for metallica at hampden park. There were cheaper options available but we chose Bemersyde for the onsite parking. We arrived just before 3pm check in to find there were only 2 spaces and both were taken so we had to park on the road. Not a great start considering we specifically chose the hotel to avoid this. Once we got inside the experience did not improve. The stairs and corridor are in a terrible state of repair, and the studio room had a strong smell of old food, as well as a broken lamp and some fairly dodgy looking electrical wiring in the shower area. The shower was freezing cold in the evening (although to be fair was ok in the morning). We are not fussy people and have stayed in many no-frills hotels but this was not a pleasant place to stay.
