The former management was on top of it all. The new one - not so much. A pity. Overpriced for what this is now.

- quiet nice neighborhood - Clean room

− - weak AC needs maintenance - Cheap and flimsy furniture - Broken washing machine - the woman living at the welcome desk is very loud with her phone on max volume and is yelling echoing through the building. She commands her son around and slaps him like a slave. Is always annoyed. Not a good atmosphere. - I stayed a week and got 2 little soap portions - Upon entering the bathroom floor towel was filthy, luckily replaced - No power (no wifi and ac) one day, thus no way of communicating via google translate - Nowhere to hang even one towel

The room was spacious, clean and very lovingly decorated. We had a balcony from which you can't see the river, because unfortunately there are buildings in the way, but it was pleasant to sit outside. The wifi is very good, I was able to do my work with it. What we also noticed was that all light switches in the room were marked with stickers in English. That was great, so we knew exactly which switch was intended for what. The mattress is hard, which we like very much and the nights were, except for a very noisy arrival, very quiet. We found the owner particularly wonderful. Although she hardly spoke English, we were able to arrange our onward transport with her with the help of the translator app. In addition, an English-speaking friend of hers came to help, who gave us a piece of paper with instructions for the bus drivers. The two ladies were so helpful and we are very grateful for that.

− The neighborhood is definitely very new and rather upscale, there are many coffee shops and masses of young people who take advantage of this offer. You can stroll along the river, but as a European you are relatively alone here and are stared at accordingly. However, this has nothing to do with the accommodation. We found it a bit hard to get around as the classic taxi app (Grab) only offers motorbikes, which is not very helpful for two people. With the Xanh SM app recommended to us, we were able to call the electric taxis - highly recommended.

Great Place to Stay

We had s spacious, spotless and nicely appointed room with a balcony. The homestay is out from the center of Long Xuyen in a quiet newer community along the water. It didn’t have a lot of restaurants or services in the immediate neighborhood, but it had just what we wanted…an amazing coffee shop overlooking the water, a really nice cocktail bar and a few restaurants that we enjoyed. Nina doesn’t speak English, but is very communicative through a translation app. She was very kind and arranged a boat for us for the small floating market, onward bus tickets, and a scooter. I would highly recommend this Homestay!
