Truly authentic homestay with the best host and guide!

The guesthouse has a true homestay feeling in a lovely setting. Exactly what we were looking for!Other than being a very good host, Meyske is also a fantastic guide ánd she cooks delicious food! We were really impressed by the tour she had organized for us. She adapted wonderwel to our requests and the fact that our kids (age 6 and 7) came along. We would highly recommend this for everybody who is looking for the most authentic experience in Toraja!

Tout était parfait ! L'hébergement est très bien placé, très convivial et propre. Les repas sont délicieux ! Meyske et sa famille nous ont chaleureusement accueillis et nous ont fait découvrir leur culture. Une immersion hors du temps, magique et unique.

Fantastic host with excellent knowledge of local traditional culture. Accommodation very clean and homely feel. The best food! If you want a very traditional tour of local culture Meyske (the host) was just amazing! She went out of her way to show us the true Alok To Dolo culture. Suffice to say Not for the faint hearted.

− Loud at night with dogs etc but were offered earplugs so all sorted.

Best homestay we have been so far

We spent almost a week at Ne’ Pakku Manja Homestay in Rantepao and felt at home from the very beginning. The homestay is located in a traditional village, which makes the stay feel very special and authentic. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept really well. We especially loved the beautiful bathroom full of plants. It is also a great place for travelers who enjoy social interaction, with family dinners, shared breakfasts, and a cozy social area where it is easy to connect with other guests. The food was amazing by the way. The highlight of our stay was Meyske, the owner and host. She is incredibly warm, helpful, and passionate about what she does. She is also probably the best guide in Tana Toraja and offers guests unique access to traditional ceremonies and local culture. As a photographer, I was especially grateful that she helped me get very close to the ceremonies in a respectful way. It truly felt like we arrived as guests and left as friends. We would highly recommend staying here.

la struttura è in contesto particolare silenzioso e confortevole. Meiske un'ottima padrona di casa (è stata molto di supporto riuscendo a trovarmi un driver alle 2 di notte che mi consentisse di raggiungere la struttura dopo una disavventura avuta con il bus!!!), ottima guida e pure una bravissima cuoca.Posto da consigliare

A homestay were you really feel at home and can relax after exploring Tana Toraja and can connect with other travellers. Meyske is a great host, very knowledgeable and a fantastic organizer. She is a member of the local guiding association with a huge network and can tell you everything about the Toraja culture and traditions. If there is a funeral to attend, she will definitely know about it. She arranged for us to attend a wedding ceremony as well. Besides she prepares delicious food and is a very kind and wonderful person. In sum, we have nothing but the highest praise for this Homestay. 100% recommended without any reservation.
