Basic but comfy, clean, good location and free parking

We booked the hostel as it was last minute and cheap. The location was great, only a ten minute (uphill) walk from town, and it had free parking. The desk was not manned but easy to find your room and key was just left in the door. For the price, it was nice and had everything we needed. It was also really quiet, from both road noise and people staying there. If we were to need a cheap place in Hebden again, we would come back. There was only 2 of us but the 4 bedroom we booked was private with private bathroom facilities, and access to shared living and kitchen facilities downstairs. Cereal and bits in the fridge were available for use. In the morning, people were there taking the bedding and cleaning, and they were very friendly.

− It was simple, but it is to be expected from a hostel. The shower wasn’t very strong. No towels provided. Make and strip your own bed. Our bedroom window didn’t stay open, so we had to wedge a blanket in to keep it open as it was warm (no air con/fans). The upstairs beds were very warm so we stayed downstairs. Grateful for the free parking but be warned it is up a steep hill!

The only problem with this Hostel is if you have lost your phone, as I did, or have a dead phone, you will have trouble getting in as you won't have the pass code for main entrance. So we shouted for half an hour at around 6.30pm. Called and ended up getting through to abroad! eventually a local helped us talk to someone and got me in 3 hours after we arrived. Also there was supposed to be fruit for breakfast, nut I was told everyone had probably eaten it on the Friday! How does that help guests on Saturday and Sunday? Room was great and location fab though!

Lovely city, nice hostel

The location had a nice place to sit outside and a kitchen with clear instructions for waste, cooking en left over food. I love that people think about that. Free tea! Nice, varied walking routes with a little help of AllTrails

− Nice basic room, no closet to store your clothes, but there were drawers. weak stream of water from the showerhead. I was there for 3 nights so okay for me. Address in confirmations brings you in the wrong street, maybe change that? Especially when it's dark, it's a bit difficult to find.
