Paradijs

10.0

Stando meravigliosamente bene.

This isn’t just a house; it’s a fairy tale in the mountains. If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect place – there isn’t even any internet. You have the whole valley to yourselves. The hostess was very welcoming and treated us to some homemade jam. The house has everything you need.

Under no circumstances should you even think of driving here in a car with low ground clearance. The last 3.5–4 km are a track suitable only for off-road vehicles. The landlady warned me the day before that this might be a problem, but I didn’t realise just how bad it would be. It’s a road through a fantastically picturesque forest, but it’s not just a dirt track – it’s full of potholes and rocks of various sizes, and it was nothing short of a miracle that our Suzuki Swift survived it. The pin on Google Maps isn’t the house itself, but simply a spot in the forest. After that, you need to drive another 100 metres and, at the fork, turn sharply to the right (a signpost with an arrow would have been very helpful here). After that, drive another 300–400 metres and you’ll reach the top of the hill with a large, dead tree. From the tree, you’ll see the house itself below, and you need to drive down to it. It’s worth using Maps.me or Organic, as this will at least give you an idea of where the house is, because there’s absolutely no internet there. When, after an hour’s ‘drive’, it got dark and it started raining with hail, we were on the verge of despair. There’s no point in going there for just one night; the landlady was surprised that we’d even managed to book just one night. You need to go there in a 4x4 or SUV for a week to really enjoy it.

The location of this mountain cabin is amazing. If you’re looking for peace and nature, you’ll be thrilled. The owner is attentive and very kind. The cabin offers plenty of comfort. It’s the perfect choice for hiking, mountain biking, or off-road motorcycling. The TET trails run right by the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back someday.

Zenja’s was a wonderful host and had provided us with everything we needed for our stay in the mountains, including lots of fresh vegetables and provisions. The cottage is in such a beautiful location and we spent four lovely days exploring the mountains.
