5.0Der Strand ist wirklich traumhaft schön, sehr einsam und wohl sicher. Das Personal war sehr bemüht, das Essen reichhaltig und größtenteils sehr gut.
− Der Preis ist absolut überteuert, es ist mir unverständlich, wieso diese Lodge so wahnsinnig teuere Preise verlangen kann. Das Internet ist quasi nicht verfügbar, auch nicht mit Mobilen Daten, was bei dem Preis im Jahr 2026 gar nicht geht. Wir hatten einige geschäftliche Dinge zu erledigen, das mussten wir leider lassen, da unmöglich. Die Hütten sind ziemlich klein und im Dunkeln gelegen, mini kleiner Balkon. Die Toilette roch sehr unangenehm, die Handtücher ebenfalls. Das tolle Meer sieht man nicht. Auch der Restaurantbereich ist klein, laut und wenig reizvoll. Am Strand stehen nur 8 Liegen für alle Gäste zur Verfügung. Die Pool Anlage ist ebenfalls klein, mit 3 Kindern in der Anlage ist der Pool bereits überfüllt. Die im Preis inkludierten Aktivitäten waren unspektakulär. Insgesamt kann ich die Tonga Lodge auf keinen Fall empfehlen.

10.0The freshly cooked breakfast was wonderful and cooked to how the guest wanted. The cold breakfast options were served in individual containers, not in a big bowl for all guests to help themselves. View of the ocean enabled me to see the whales from the comfort of our patio. Very quite not only in our room but in the lodge as a whole. Evening meal choices suited us. Good selection of SOuth African wines.
− Just a niggle really - but I did not like being approached to take additional, and at a cost, activities whilst having our meals. We were told about them all at check in - that should be enough.
Please note that Thonga Beach Lodge is only accessible with a 4x4 vehicle.
Alternatively, a transfer from a car parking area can be organized by the lodge and is offered twice daily at 12:00 and 15:00. The transfer needs to be pre-booked with the lodge in advance.
