Decent hotel in good location with obliging staff

Quiet, very central to Newmarket, clean, and friendly staff
7.0Very friendly staff, seen promptly on check-in and got my car permit sorted. Rooms very clean. Very extensive bar....
− Of the two bedside lights, each with 2 bulbs, one bulb had gone in each. The chair in the room was broken - if you sat back in it the back kept going backwards which levered the back legs inwards. Couldn't sit on it comfortably at all. It looked intact until you sat on it! I didn't realise until after 10pm and there was no-one around in the morning to report it and unfortunately I needed to head out for a meeting. Room #25 if the hotel is reading these!

10.0The staff was very friendly and helpful. They cared about every detail, keeping the entire hotel clean, also ensure food service was exceptional. Not only was Kings excellent, but also its location was perfect for local restaurants - specifically Little Jessie's bakery, Starbucks, Greggs, Unico. Kings also is not far from the "gallops" where the racehorse's workout each morning! Kings also right next to the bus stop to travel to the "July Course" racecourse.
− The music at nights during the race days was way too loud!

− I expected much more from this hotel the photos sell it as something much more grand and the price was expensive for what it ended up being. Staff very polite and helpful. Car parking not great but was made aware prior to accept that. The price did not match the accommodation

9.0The location was spot on for Newmarket race nights. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The layout of the hotel was nice, lovely outside area. The seating was comfortable, the rooms were great, and there was a DJ and the bar was open till late.
− There wasn't anything not to like, other than maybe the car park is small but if you get there early you might get a parking space also you might be able to sleep till early hours if the DJ is playing.
Please note that any smoking or excessive damage will be subject to a £100 fine.
• Children under 18 years old must be supervised at all times.
• Please note that there is no elevator access to rooms located on the first floor or higher. If you require a ground floor room due to mobility needs, please contact us in advance to make arrangements.
• Please be aware that the property has a busy restaurant, bar & venue in the center of Newmarket, and as such you may experience some noise disturbance from the venue or from neighboring public houses.
