− Couldn't check in til 4 and pub wasn't open to then to speak to anyone and was unable to contact anyone all day via phone to let them know we were going to be late. As we couldn't get transport back from the local races. Rooms were smaller than expected for the price

Excellent stay, comfortable, clean, nice food, fine beer and ideally located for Cartmel races.
9.0A good comfortable, clean room with en suite including shower. If’s in a good location for Cartmel races. And the food and beer were excellent.
− Parking is in the village square opposite the pub, we were lucky to get a spot. I’m not sure where we would be able to park if it was full. Also, note that there is no breakfast available at the hotel, which wasn’t a problem for us on this trip as we had time to go get one at the nearby garden centre, which was good.
